Laverne’s Journey
When her world fell to pieces she felt broken and alone. But that was not the end of her story. Her life journey has become a platform where she has helped other women in their own brokenness. As a mentor, leader, speaker and author she continues to move forward and thrive as well as investing in the lives of other women.
From seashells to broken pieces of glass that represented the devastation she had experienced; Laverne found the wholeness of her brokenness and new life through the power and love of Jesus Christ.
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the broken hearted:
he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.
Laverne’s story is one of broken experiences from an early age through adulthood that led her to literally fall to her knees and cry out to God. The undercurrent of her life’s journey was heavy, but within the broken pieces of her life, she found peace.
It is her hope now that others will discover peace in the pieces of their lives through her story and ultimately our savior, Jesus Christ.

Grief is a Process, but Recovery is a Choice
Grieving is a process, but recovery is a choice. Jump in with both feet and hold on tight. Grieving will be one of the toughest jobs you will ever have to go through. Whether it was sudden or long drawn out, this is your grief, no one can tell you how to do it, or that in two months your life will be back to normal. Take all the time you need. God has provided these *tools to maybe give you some comfort in this time of your life. Just know God is close, he will love you through it.
*more about tools in a future blog.
Introducing my story and recovery in my new book:
“She Found Peace In The Pieces”
Brokenness has a way of entering without being welcomed. Brokenness comes in different forms but will take over if left unattended. For me, 2008 was when my world stopped on a dime. My husband of almost 30 years died of a brain aneurysm. No, this is not really happening. We have our whole lives ahead of us. What will our boys do without their dad? I’m in a fog, making tough decisions for a future without him. Time out. Give us a minute to discuss this…. (from Chapter 10 in “She Found Piece in the Peaces”).
